Fall Preparations Complete – November 2013

When the Challengers Field project began in September 2013, our goal was to have the asphalt base for the field down this fall.

We’re happy to report that this major milestone has been completed!

Here’s a recap of that final push:

Monday 10/27 & Tuesday 10/28, the final grading for the field was completed with 6 truckloads of stone being delivered and graded.

Friday 11/1, Saturday 11/2, & Sunday 11/3, applications of asphalt to the Challenger baseball field site began and are now complete.

In the early Spring, the plan is to lay down the rubber safety surface in time for…

Opening Day in May 2014.

Thanks again to all involved who’ve kept this project moving forward with their hard work and dedication. None of this would have been possible without you.

Excavation for the New Field – October 19, 2013

Literally plowing ahead, excavation for the new field took place the weekend of October 19th. Under Dave McGuire’s direction the field area was excavated by K-Line Excavating.
